6ME<\/strong> stands for Six-monthly Medical Examination<\/strong>, an initiative by Singapore\u2019s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to regularly monitor the health of foreign domestic helpers. Domestic helpers have to go for a health checkup every 6 months, failing which their work permit will be revoked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key 6ME Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n

  • Performed once every six months<\/li>\n
  • Conducted only by a Singapore-registered doctor<\/li>\n
  • Paid for by the employer<\/li>\n
  • All test results are submitted directly to MOM by the clinic <\/li>\n
  • Employers\/representatives cannot be present during the check-up<\/li>\n

    Measles Vaccinations<\/h2>\n\n\n
      <\/p>\n
    • If your household has a child under 7 years old who has not been vaccinated for measles, you must ensure your helper is immune, vaccinated, or has a vaccination appointment booked before applying for or renewing her work permit.<\/li>\n
    • If your helper is not immune or fully vaccinated, she will need the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) two-dose vaccine. This can be done during her 6ME check-up.<\/li>\n

      When to send my MDW for 6ME?<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t
      You will receive a notification letter and 6ME form by post when your helper’s 6ME is due. She must complete her 6ME by the due date. <\/div><\/div><\/p>\n

      What if my MDW\u2019s employment is ending soon?<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t
      If you are sending your helper home within 1 month from her 6ME due date, you can choose not to send her for the 6ME. <\/div><\/div><\/p>\n

      Who can submit 6ME results?<\/h3>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t
      All results must be submitted by clinics.
