6ME Check Up Affordable Medical Check Up for Maids/ Helpers/ Foreign Domestic Workers (FDW)

6ME stands for Six-monthly Medical Examination, an initiative by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) to regularly monitor the health of foreign domestic helpers. Domestic helpers have to go for a health checkup every 6 months, failing which their work permit will be revoked.

What Does 6ME Check For?

6ME appointments cover mandatory tests as required by MOM. Before each appointment, MOM will notify you which tests your helper must complete.

Key 6ME Requirements

  • Performed once every six months
  • Conducted only by a Singapore-registered doctor
  • Paid for by the employer
  • All test results are submitted directly to MOM by the clinic
  • Employers/representatives cannot be present during the check-up

Measles Vaccinations

  • If your household has a child under 7 years old who has not been vaccinated for measles, you must ensure your helper is immune, vaccinated, or has a vaccination appointment booked before applying for or renewing her work permit.
  • If your helper is not immune or fully vaccinated, she will need the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) two-dose vaccine. This can be done during her 6ME check-up.

When to send my MDW for 6ME?

You will receive a notification letter and 6ME form by post when your helper’s 6ME is due. She must complete her 6ME by the due date.

What if my MDW’s employment is ending soon?

If you are sending your helper home within 1 month from her 6ME due date, you can choose not to send her for the 6ME.

Who can submit 6ME results?

All results must be submitted by clinics.
Employers can view their helpers results on MOM Portal.
